SPRING/SUMMER 2010(working test season)
Sunday 22nd August 2010 - MGS Open Cold Game Test, Second
Laura ran Jobeshill Lotta of Stauntonvale (Bea) in Midland Gundog Society's Open Cold Game Test, which was walked up in sugar beet. The test was held at Gopsall House Farm, Twycross, by kind permission of Wrights of Twycross. The judges for the day were G. Leeson, P. Cullis, P. Wintersgill & M. Fitch.
Bea ran very well throughout the day, with some smart work both on blinds and marks. Six dogs were taken through for a final retrieve, which was an extremely long mark. Unfortunately, Bea didn't see the mark, which made the retrieve harder, but she handled well, and was awarded second place (just one point behind the winner!).
Thursday 17th June 2010 - LRC Open Water Test, First & Second
Still on form...
Laura ran Jobeshill Octavia (Pru) and Jobeshill Lotta of Stauntonvale (Bea) in the Labrador Retriever Club's Open Water Test, held at Claydon House Estate, Bucks, by kind permission of Sir Edmond Verney. The test was judged by Mr. R. Taylor and Mrs. C. Carter.
Determined to prove that she was still on song, Pru won the test without dropping a point, closely followed by Bea, who came second. So, a really successful day out for Stauntonvale Gundogs!
Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th June 2010 - Kennel Club 2 Day Open Test, First
A weekend to remember!
Laura ran Jobeshill Octavia and Jobeshill Lotta of Stauntonvale in the Kennel Club's Two Day Open Test for 40 Retrievers, held at Chatsworth Estate, by kind permission of the Duchess of Devonshire.
The test was judged by Mr. P. Garton, Mr. R. Watson, Mrs. R. Wise and Mrs. J. Hankey. It comprised 13 tests (18 retrieves) held over the two days. On the first day, the dogs were tested in both drive and walk up scenarios, and then on the Sunday dogs completed four static tests, including water, before 12 dogs were taken through to make their final retrieves over stone walls to collect a blind retrieve followed by a mark.
Laura was absolutely delighted that Pru won First Prize and the Shooting Gazette trophy. This was Pru's first time out after having her pups just seven weeks ago. What an amazing come back!

The test attracted a very strong entry including six Field Trial Champions. The judges were Mr. P. Bates, Mr. D. Field and Mrs. P. Williams.
