It was the third time the Retriever Championship had been held at Blankney, and the Estate management team had done a great job of especially preparing the ground, which was mustard, mixed fodder rape and kale and sugar beet.

The weather remained fine, crisp and dry, and the Championship flowed well over the three days. A record 55 dogs/handlers were competing on the first day, with the field reduced to around half of this on the second day, and just 12 dogs being taken through to day three.

It was the first time that Laura had qualifed for the IGL Retriever Championships, and she and FT CH Jobeshill Octavia made it through to the second day with some very nice work.
